Research in Colorado

This research project involved the growth of pollen tubes of the Solanaceae Family conducted in Colorado for 4 months. I presented an introduction to my project, a powerpoint presentation, an oral presentation, and writing a manuscript similar to what was done in Arizona. I participate in a weekly field trip with the REU group. Some of the field trips were to project sites to increase our awareness of the types of positions that are available with a biology degree.

My REU mentors were Paul Covey and Dr. Subbaiah Chalivendra. The committee mentor was Dr. Patricia Bedinger.

Research in Arizona

My research project involved testing the uptake of MerT. This involved a weekly field trip with students who were also accepted into the UBRP, as well as my mentor Dr. Chris Rensing and his research lab members.

First Hand Experience, Cows and Calves was written by me about my UBRP trip to the  Goldman’s Dairy in Coolidge.

My experience on the Catalina mountains involved observing flowers that I had never observed previously, looking outward from the mountain, observing and examining a variety of rocks.
